The New Sanctuary!

Our first Sunday to use the new sanctuary was Easter Sunday 2009. This week the parking lot is being graded and in the next couple of weeks will be poured. We are getting really close to being able to officially meet at 420 Lama Street in Hilo!

Kekoa Hudson has arrived!

Our newest addition arrived on April 18th after a version procedure turned him from breech position and a few hours later he was able to come right on his due date. We are all back in Hilo enjoying him very much. Even Liana is sweet to him kissing him often and helping to get him his wet wipes and clean diapers. Thank everyone for your prayers on our behalf!

Oh, oh!

We are still a ways from moving into the house.... We hoped we could be in by now, but alas, as usually happens with construction projects, it is taking longer than we anticipated. Of course, this is in large part due to the extra things we tacked on to the project--putting up a wall here & there, taking down a wall here & there adds up for more time & money invested.

Homeowners at Last!

We are now proud owners of a 5 bedroom (we will downsize it to a 4 bedroom), 3 bath home in Glennwood, Hawaii. The address is actually for Mountain View, and we do not get rural mail delivery at our home so will eventually need to take on a Mountain View post office box. We will be located about 16 miles up the Volcano Highway (the counting of the miles begins right around Hilo Bay). We have some work to do to get the house ready for us to live in it. Projected move in date would be March 1....

In escrow!

It is hard for us to believe that we are in escrow on a house in Glennwood about a 15 minute drive from the new church site. We tried to buy this house in August/September but had no downpayment money & someone else's offer was accepted at that time. Meanwhile, we sold our Orchidland lot & now have downpayment money for this house. It is a fixer-upper, so if all goes well, we think we might be done with repairs by the end of January. Praise the Lord! Now we will have more rooms for guests & their kids....

Oh, dear!

Has it been so long since I posted? Very sorry. I've been spending time keeping in touch through Facebook.com and have enjoyed seeing everyone's photos & uploading photos there. We will be having church Thanksgiving at the new church building. It is not scheduled to be completed until later--maybe 8 to 10 weeks from now.

End of summer....

... brings lots of happenings around here. Last weekend I traveled to Kauai for Sarah N.'s wedding. It was a beautiful, happy affair with amazing pupus and a luau feast. This past week we have been trying to open escrow on a fixer-upper home located in Glenwood (15 minutes up the volcano highway from town). Here in Hilo, Berean Bible Church is nearly ready to receive its roof. Back in Texas, Debbie & Russell are now officially residents of Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, having purchased a home there & having sold their McAllen residence. Also back at OREMUNDO headquarters, there are changes with the Briscoe's move to Missouri & the Raymer's move to Mexico. The Woodfields will use office space for OREUMUNDO at Faith Baptist Church in Palmhurst while the properties in Mission are put up for sale. The idea is that the OREMUNDO operations will now be streamlined without owning property in South Texas and much will be done from the campus of Universidad Cristiana de las Americas in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Changes, changes everywhere.
